Coaching skills are increasingly recognised as important skills for educational leaders at all levels.
The three-phase Coaching Accreditation Program is a highly practical and evidence-based coach training program for teachers and educational leaders looking to make a positive contribution to professional practice and impact whole-school improvement.
Around 5000 school staff have already completed this program and have seen the positive effects of coaching impact staff and student well-being and success. The transformational effect of coaching has become a key factor in the way schools engage with their communities.
An optional Phase 4 is offered to those who would like to proceed to full Growth Coaching International Coach Accreditation.
The Coaching Accreditation Program is suitable for any educational leader who wishes to significantly build coaching skills and develop a solid platform of practical skills, knowledge, models and tools for effective coaching of staff, students and the wider community.
This program can be run within a school (minimum 12 participants) or within a community of schools. Individuals may wish to attend a public program - these are available in all regions. Refer to Current Workshops for dates.
The Coaching Accreditation Program involves participation in three phases. An optional Phase 4 is required for full Growth Coaching International Coach Accreditation.

coaching sessions and completion of coaching project.

This phase will provide a balance of theory and practical application, including significant modelling of coaching practice. Participants will have opportunities to practise coaching in a highly supportive environment.
Introduction and intensive training in the following concepts and coaching applications will be provided:
Flexible external learning phase, including phone coaching practice sessions with other participants, readings, viewing videos, and workplace coaching practice sessions.
A thorough outline of expectations of Phase 2 will be provided at the Phase 1 workshop. Phase 2 serves to build upon and reinforce concepts introducted during Phase 1.
This phase will include:Note: Participants will cover their own costs for phone connections associated with Phase 2 coaching practice.
Phase 3:A significant focus of Phase 3 includes input and modelling giving feedback in coaching. This Phase will again have modelling of coaching and considerable time given to practice.
Specifically, the 2 days will address:GCI Coach Accreditation involves completion of 6x1 hour phone coaching sessions with a GCI Coach that focus on providing additional individual coaching together with complete exposure to the GCI coaching system.
This option requires:Once GCI Accreditation is achieved, a formal agreement is entered into providing GCI Accredited Coach status for a 3 year period. Further continuing professional development is required to extend Accreditation status beyond the initial 3 year period. This will involve 40 hours of professional development over 3 years. The only required professional development activity during that period is participation in the GCI Advanced Coaching Solutions Focus Master Class. Other forms of professional development including coaching supervision, reading, conferences and other workshops and webinars can count towards those 40 hours.
Completing the four-day Phase 1 to 3 Coaching Accreditation Program addresses the following domains and standards for Lead teacher from the Australian
Professional Standards for Teachers as published by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL): 3.1.4, 3.5.4, 6.1.4, 6.2.4,
6.3.4 and 7.3.4
The duration of the program is 30 hours.
Completing Phase 1 to 3 of Coaching Accreditation Program will contribute 30 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 1.3.4, 2.2.4, 2.3.4, 3.1.4, 3.5.4, 4.3.4, 5.2.4, 6.1.4, 6.2.4, 6.3.4, 6.4.4, 7.1.4, 7.3.4 and 7.4.4 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Upon completion of Phase 4 of the Coaching Accreditation Program, Recognition of Prior Learning is offered on the following:
Under Macquarie’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy you may apply for up to four units of credit based on previous postgraduate studies, professional development and training, and work experience. This could mean a reduction of up to one third in the cost of, and time taken to complete, your degree.
